【Maintaining Energy Balance Part I : Cosmic Part 维持能量的平衡上编-宇宙编】
The sky is dark and the earth yellow, the universe is vast, all things grow, and the world evolves. Since the emergence of consciousness, all things perceive the world and nature; people from ancient to modern times have continuously observed, thought, and explored the universe. Laozi's Tao, Zhuangzi's time and space, Confucius' unity of heaven and man, the Vedic creation, the Buddha's dependent origination. Modern physics, chemistry, philosophy and other disciplines have deeply explored and applied the universe, with various theories emerging one after another. However, have we discovered a law that governs the evolution and operation of all things in the universe? As the great physicist Hawking said: "If we do discover a complete theory, it should be understandable in broad principle by everyone, not just a few scientists. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists, and just ordinary people, be able to take part in the discussion of the question of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason — for then we would know the mind of God."
Thousands of years of Western scientific rise and verification let us glimpse energy; 5,000 years of Eastern culture and application let us understand balance. The integration of Eastern and Western civilizations has yielded a law: "Maintaining energy balance"; "The universe is a poem of energy, and balance is its rhyme."
Let us board Einstein's spaceship E=mc2 (energy = mass × speed of light squared) and begin our journey of cosmic energy balance.
First, we must distinguish between energy conservation and energy balance; these are two completely different concepts. The law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be transformed from one form to another, or transferred from one object to another, but the total amount of energy remains unchanged. The law of conservation of energy is one of the fundamental laws of nature.
